About Karrieanne Warren
Karrieanne Warren, an artist residing on the Big Island of Hawaii, draws inspiration from her nomadic upbringing, which instilled in her a profound sense of curiosity and adventure. Her childhood spent traveling has deeply influenced her artistic journey, where she seeks to evoke the emotions and sensations she experienced on the road. Nature holds a special place in her heart, yet she also cherishes the allure of city lights illuminating the night sky. Karrieanne integrates elements from her surroundings directly into her paintings, often using rain or ocean water to dilute her paints, thereby embracing and reflecting the natural environment in her art.
Her fascination with luminous displays, particularly neon signs, has recently become a central theme in her work. Contemplating her attraction to these vivid symbols, Karrieanne identifies a fascination with how they illuminate darkness. Whether it's the festive glow of Christmas lights, the captivating streaks of brake lights on a highway, or the mesmerizing allure of neon signs beckoning from afar, she is captivated by their ability to punctuate the night with vivid, luminous hues. Each neon sign becomes a beacon of anticipation, drawing the viewer in with its radiant presence and intriguing message, embodying a source of inspiration and obsession in her artistic exploration. Most recently Karrieanne has combined her love for tropical landscapes and Neon lights creating her new seriers: Hawaii, Now Visible at Night. Her paintings celebrate the natural setting of tropical plants with one or more flowers that look as though it is made from neon lights.
